ETAS | Blue Box on Air
A Commercial film series by Chris Roemer and Julius SchmittETAS | Blue Box on Air
"What's in the box?" - This cannot be clearly stated, the content is too diverse for a simple answer.
A blue box in the middle of a space - now floating, then standing, sometimes in the top right corner. The project is as large as it is multilayered, it consists of a total of twelve different films with different themes in a wide variety of styles.
From concept and production to postproduction, all done by Carlo. From graphic novel to interview, from animated to real. This format was developed for ETAS' internal communication.

Meine Reise mit dem Wanderkino
A Documentary by Julius SchmittMeine Reise mit dem Wanderkino
Screen installed. Projector started. People are swarming to the field. 8 p.m.: The screening can begin. The travelling cinema is visiting the south of Burkina Faso.
The fascination of the moving image - in Germany, the travelling cinema has long been degenerate into a nostalgia. People are mobile, have the luxury of time and money to be entertained. This is still different in Burkina Faso.
Unterwegs mit dem Wanderkino is a personal road movie with a first-person narrator. Three protagonists, three versions with three different speakers in three different languages: German (Julius), French (Georges), Mooré (Nadége).

So hell die Nacht
A Documentary by Julius SchmittSo hell die Nacht
Last sunrays disappear behind the hills. Darkness covers the city, coldness creeps into the bones, street lights replace the day. A rat flees from a night owl. The later hours let more and more lights disappear, tranquility is awaiting hustle and bustle, is waiting for the day. But when most people close their eyes, the alarm clocks of others ring. Night workers - from dusk till dawn. So hell die Nacht is both a short documentation, as well as a 5-minutes piano piece.
